Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to me at laura@technicolorcounseling.com if you cannot find the answer to your question below.

I work with adults located in Louisiana or Florida navigating anxiety, ADHD, overwhelm, perfectionism, self-esteem concerns, and relationship stress. My experience also includes depression, life transitions,  couples work, and substance use concerns. Contact me if you’re unsure whether we would be a good fit.

I’m based in New Orleans and offer online therapy in Louisiana and Florida.

Insurance options are available through Alma and Headway. I currently accept:

  • Aetna EAP
  • Carelon Behavioral Health
  • Cigna EAP
  • Curative
  • Meritain Health
  • Nippon Life Benefits
  • Trustmark Benefits

My self-pay rate is $130 for an approximately 55-minute individual session, and $150 for a 55-minute couples session. If you plan to use insurance, your cost will depend on your benefits. I accept all major credit cards.

I am a full-time virtual therapist with weekday availability during mornings and afternoons. Appointment availability changes as once you are an established client, you are able to self-schedule. We can determine a recurring appointment time that works for you that remains reserved for you. Contact me to ask about current openings.

Use the contact form, email Laura@technicolorcounseling.com, or call 504-321-3562. I’ll respond within 1–2 business days to discuss your needs, availability, and next steps.

Sessions last approximately 55 minutes. We’ll discuss how often to meet based on your needs, goals, and appointment availability, but I generally start out most clients on a weekly basis, and we decrease that frequency as you meet your goals and we see fit.

I'll never give you a worksheet unless I made it myself. We may choose small practices to try between sessions, such as a grounding exercise, brief journaling, or practicing a boundary. These are opportunities to use what we’re working on in daily life. We’ll keep them manageable and talk about what worked and what got in the way.

You don’t need a prepared agenda or a perfectly organized explanation. I’ll help you find a starting point, and we’ll work together to understand what you need.

Protecting your privacy is an important part of our work. Before we begin, you’ll receive information about confidentiality, its limits, and the technology used for your care. We’ll review this together, and you’re welcome to ask questions at any point.

I don’t prescribe medication. If you’re interested in a medication evaluation, I can help you explore referral options and coordinate with your prescriber when appropriate and with your permission.

"A therapist who is vibrant, inspirational, and charismatic; who is sincere, loving, and nurturing; and who is wise, confident, and self-disciplined, will often have an impact through the sheer force and power of her essence, regardless of her theoretical allegiances."
